The 5th Hainan Island International Film Festival ＂Golden Coconut Carnival＂ was held in Wanning.

The international film festival "Golden Coconut Carnival" in Wanning opened in Riyuewan, Wanning.
With the theme of "YOUNG Wave, Making Waves and Searching for Shadows", the exhibition will feature three consecutive days of free outdoor exhibitions of selected international and domestic masterpieces and classic movies. The activity will combine surfing culture with movies, fully demonstrating the characteristics of Wanning’s vibrant city. More than 100 people including city leaders, guests and media reporters attended the event.
Yang Zhibin, member of the Standing Committee of Wanning Municipal Committee and Vice Mayor, said in his speech that the addition of outdoor exhibition spots in Wanning for the 5th Hainan Island International Film Festival is not only the affirmation of the Hainan Provincial Party Committee and the provincial government on the work of Wanning’s cultural industry, but also the confidence in the development of Wanning’s film industry. I hope that this exhibition will enable citizens, tourists and friends to experience the unique charm of film art personally, get a deeper understanding of Wanning’s culture and history, and feel the unique customs of Wanning, a coastal city.

In the "YOUNG Wave Starry Music Party" held on December 17th, the launching ceremony of Wanning’s "YOUNG Wave Making Waves and Searching for Shadows" activity was held. The star big coffee and guests appeared on the red carpet, and the exhibition area of Wanning’s film development history was also set up at the event site, supporting the food market and the cultural and creative market. The audience interactive session will also organize a lottery question and answer session to create a strong viewing atmosphere and the ultimate experience of deep seaside holiday for citizens and tourists.

It is understood that during these three days, the Indian comedy movie Happy Sunday, the motorcycle diary that discovered the soul through travel exploration, and the warm family road movie Starlight Walk with Me have been shown in turn, and citizens can watch movies for free on the spot.
It is worth mentioning that, taking the opportunity of this activity, Anemone Music, as a new force of original music, also composed three original songs for Wanning, namely, Summer Island, Sea Breeze Blowing and Pink Sunset, and composed melodies with strong rhythm, drunkenness and memory points in the styles of Discofunk, R&B music, City Pop music and Funk elements, reflecting that Wanning Surfing Town is a "summer dream bay".

In addition, during the whole activity, Wanning also displayed and promoted local specialty products of Wanning such as coffee, tea, duck eggs and agarwood. The unique Starry Sky Film Festival combines elements such as minority culture, music, cultural creation and food, presenting a feast of vision, taste and culture, allowing citizens and tourists to experience the unique charm of film art, and to understand the culture and history of Wanning in depth and feel the unique customs of Wanning, a coastal city.
A Hongzai, an island singer with clear sky, said in an interview after the film festival that the beautiful natural environment of Hainan Island can not only be used as the location for movies, but also be an excellent place for band singers to find inspiration. His original song Pink Sunset is the inspiration he found in Riyuewan, and the holding of the film festival can also attract more outstanding musicians and filmmakers to collect folk songs in Wanning and write more better songs and movies about Hainan and Riyuewan in Wanning.
It is reported that in recent years, Wanning’s beautiful natural scenery has been favored by various film and television crews. Wanning City has continuously promoted the integration and development of culture, tourism and sports, created more advantageous tourism resources, and continuously improved the supporting facilities for tourism services to attract more film and television variety shows to come and shoot. Since 2020, there have been 40 film and television dramas, documentaries and variety shows filmed in Wanning.
