Nanning, the capital of Guangxi, has gathered high-quality medical resources. During the winter and summer vacations, due to the influence of bad weather such as college students’ vacation and severe cold and heat, the number of street blood donors in our city has dropped sharply, but the demand for clinical blood in medical institutions has not decreased, and the seasonal ischemia situation is very prominent. For this reason, since 2010, the city has held the "Blood Donation Month for Medical Staff" from January to March and the "Blood Donation Month for Civil Servants" from July to September every year, organizing medical staff and civil servant groups to donate blood, with the aim of guiding all sectors of society to pay attention to blood donation during the winter and summer vacations and ensuring clinical blood supply. Second, the provisions on granting and receiving the honorary card of blood donation without compensation have been added, and the conditions for obtaining the honorary card have been adjusted. For example, only those who donated 8,000 ml or more can obtain the honorary card of blood donation without compensation, and those who donated more than 4,000 ml can obtain it, so as to increase the conditions for blood donors in rare blood group to obtain the honorary card, and increase the sense of belonging and honor of blood donors.

According to the original "Regulations on Blood Donation in Nanning", unpaid blood donors and their beneficiaries can apply for reimbursement of blood expenses in medical institutions. However, due to various factors such as economic conditions, there are still many medical institutions that do not have the conditions for direct reimbursement, and blood donors need to go to blood stations to apply for reimbursement, which increases the burden on blood donors.
Since 2020, according to the national requirements, with the joint efforts of health care, human society, finance and other departments and medical institutions, blood stations and medical institutions have realized the information interconnection of unpaid blood donors, so that medical institutions can obtain the information of patients and their relatives’ unpaid blood donation in the process of expense settlement, simplify procedures and provide one-stop service, and open a new service mode that unpaid blood donors and their relatives can directly reduce their blood expenses when they leave the hospital for medical treatment, and directly report their blood for free, thus truly realizing "more information to run and donate blood".
