Latest recall! Involving Toyota, BYD, Link, BMW and smart.
China Economic Net Beijing September 30 th (Reporter) Guo Yue) Yesterday, the State Administration of Market Supervision announced five recalls of passenger cars, and five brands including Toyota, BYD, Link, BMW and smart will recall a total of 233,612 vehicles. Among them, only Toyota brand recalled more than 100,000 vehicles.
Specifically, among the five passenger car brands that initiated the recall, Toyota has the largest number, and will recall a total of 132,124 vehicles, namely, Fenglanda twin-engine and Corolla sharp-release twin-engine vehicles, accounting for 56.56% of the total recall on that day.
The reason for the recall of the two models is that the brake actuator can not properly adjust the brake fluid pressure when braking during steering due to the imperfect computer program for controlling the brake actuator. In extreme cases, it may cause the vehicle to fail to provide braking force according to the driver’s intention for a very short time, and the braking distance is longer than the driver’s predicted distance, which increases the risk of vehicle collision and has potential safety hazards.
In this regard, GAC Toyota Motor Co., Ltd. and FAW Toyota Motor Co., Ltd. will upgrade the internal program of the brake actuator control computer for vehicles within the recall range free of charge to eliminate potential safety hazards.
BYD recalled 96,714 dolphins and Yuan PLUS, accounting for 41.40%. The reason for the recall is that due to the manufacturing process of the electric power steering column assembly (CEPS) controller, the upper cover of the equipment tool interferes with the capacitor on the controller circuit board when it is closed, resulting in microcracks in the capacitor. When the vehicle is in use, the micro-cracks of the capacitor may expand and cause short circuit, resulting in overheating, ablation and even fire of the capacitor, which poses a safety risk.
In this regard, BYD Auto Industry Co., Ltd. and BYD Auto Co., Ltd. will entrust BYD authorized dealers to install controller insulation gaskets for vehicles within the scope of recall free of charge to eliminate potential safety hazards.
In addition, Lectra announced the recall of 2,539 Lectra 08 vehicles; BMW announced the recall of 1,264 imported 5 Series, 7 Series, i5 and i7 vehicles; Smart will recall 971 Elf #3 pure electric vehicles.
