Although China is a traditional mainland country, its marine strategy and sea power awareness are also the focus of this country’s concern. In 1953, Chairman Mao made an important instruction that "in order to oppose imperialist aggression, we must build a strong navy". Among the large and small naval vessels, destroyers have the reputation of "marine light cavalry". The history of destroyers has lasted for more than 100 years, from Hawok to Island Wind, from bainbridge to Alibek. In the Republic navy, there is naturally this versatile figure at sea. So, what is the performance of the destroyer of the Republic Navy? What is the development context? We need to spend a little time sorting out and using public information to explain. From Nanchang to Nanchang, please watch and listen to the live broadcast on time.

Beijing | Dunhuang Art and the History of China Painting
Time:14:00 on November 28th (Saturday)
Location:Peking University Erti Underground Lecture Hall B102, No.5 Summer Palace Road, Haidian District
Speaker:Zhao Shengliang (Dean and Researcher of Dunhuang Research Institute)
In the past, there were some difficulties in the study of China’s painting history, including the lack of research materials, limited published high-definition picture books and outdated research methods. The dilemma in the study of painting history highlights the important value of Dunhuang art. Dunhuang frescoes truly reflect the development of painting art during the 4th century to the 14th century, especially from Wei, Jin, Southern and Northern Dynasties to Sui and Tang Dynasties. Paintings handed down from generation to generation are extremely rare, and Dunhuang frescoes with abundant stocks can supplement the deficiency of painting history. We can identify the painting styles of famous painters such as Gu Kaizhi in the Eastern Jin Dynasty, Yan Liben, Wu Daozi, Zhou Fang and Li Sixun in the Tang Dynasty through the investigation of Dunhuang murals and the materials of ancient painting history, and fully understand the history of China painting.

Speaker:Ran Yunfei (scholar, writer)
China’s literature, including poetry, has always had a tradition of describing the immediate scenery-landscapes, animals and plants. When we saw that Xu Ding, a scholar in the Qing Dynasty, and Yuan Gangfeng, a Japanese scholar, and other hand-painted maps of the Book of Songs, spread endlessly, we knew that what they said was true. On the other hand, poetic geography often only pays attention to the geographical conditions of landscape rivers, ignoring the characteristics of animals and plants on them. For example, there were many poems about litchi produced in Sichuan in the Tang Dynasty, but they gradually disappeared. The reason was related to climate change, but the discussion in this aspect did not attract enough attention. In fact, most people only pay attention to the literary appreciation of poems, while scholars often only pay attention to textual research on the basis of textual research, not so much to the historical and geographical information contained in poems. Although Chen Yinque’s "Yuan Bai Poems" has been demonstrated before, there are not many practitioners, probably because of the current trend of producing more junk papers, which makes people unable to work slowly and do fine work. That’s right. In this lecture, let’s do some detailed inquiry work.
